We “ won” it when we lost

That sure sounds like a participation trophy to me. And the trophy was actually your younger brother’s, but mom and dad were sick of your crying

Your dad’s vehicles all look to be red as well.

It’s really only a happy coincidence they are all red and/or white.

Do your parents have a place in the UP or live there? I love the UP and dream of buying some land there someday.

He actually has black or white cars now. B ut lives around Marquette , from Wisconsin though.  It is pretty up there.

Aw, look at Wisconsin trying to be a troll, despite not being under t he bridge. That’s cute.

This reminds me: Who thought it’d be cute to leave that chunk of Maryland attached by a 1.5-mile-wide corridor in that north-east portion of WV? Just give it up and let it be free. They should at least swap the weird chunk of WV for the weird chunk of MD...

One of the last places where land is decently cheap. I miss it.

Take your fight up with the Potomac River. How dare it change direction!

Admittedly, it is a bit weird to to take I-81, cross from VA  to WV then go ~25 miles to MD and then only around a dozen more to hit PA.

WV didn’t exist until 1862 after a vote to secede from Virginia after Virginia seceded from the US. You’d think they could have sorted that border out a bit by, say, trading WV’s weird appendage to MD for that weird appendage of MD.

Obviously, the lines were drawn before they had reliable information about the course of the river. The western border of MD follows a line that was drawn about 100 years before WV seceded from VA.

FWIW the boat is only used in little lakes.

Compared to what it was like when I grew up, it seems like it is the Caribbean now.
